Even if they did live out of the limelight as a self earning private couple, HRH the Duke of Sussex would still be the Queen's grandson and still likely to be invited to Balmoral in the Summer. I suppose the only difference it would make is that it would be even less of the business of the gutter press.

In any event, the DoS, is extremely rich in his own right having inherited one half of his late mother's estate.

Did not have a dig at Markle. But did reflect on what Harry was before they married. He is certainly not the same bloke. I am sure that she is the same woman though. She can show no more charm and good grace than you can. Having isolated herself from her immediate family she will no doubt do the same for Harry. Except his mother.

Not really. The nastier sections of the gutter media know what their readership hate. A mixed-race, American, divorcee, actress marrying into our royal family is just about level with the coming of the antichrist for some folk. Meghan was never going to be accepted, and Harry is now a villain by association. Every single decision they make will be butchered in some quarters.

Like my son, AOG, Prince Harry transferred to the AAC from another regiment; my son = REME, Prince Harry = Blues and Royals.
When dress uniform is required, it is the uniform of the 'mother' regiment together with the relevant cap-badge which is worn on the light blue AAC beret.

I am sure the Queen, Prince Philip and the other assorted Royals are quite relaxed about the non-attendance of the Sussex's.

This is just another opportunity for those with axes to grind to do so.

He was a young man and by all accounts, a bit of a party animal. He's now married with a young child. It's call growing up.

I know the Mail were vocal supporters of Oswald Moseley up until a point, and had some articles in favour of Hitler which are widely known. I'm sure they soon changed their tune at the outbreak of WWII though.

Were Edward VIII's Nazi sympathies widely known at the time or did they only come out after his death? I know he visited Germany before WWII, but I don't know details.

His views were known alright. As a colonel in the Guards Rgt he failed to rejoin his Rgt when mobilised. He just happened to be in France when he got his recall to mobilise. He legged it to the Bahamas I think with Simpson. Any one else on active duty would of been shot.
