// My full posts, at least -- which amounts to basically the same thing. But I don't see why you need to tell anyone.//

calm yourself Jim
she doesnt read your posts and she does nt read her own posts .....
and my god that doesnt stop the incessant blaaarting

normal day on AB - it does make her conversations somewhat - - one sided - but no less amusing
//As far as I can see....//

I know how far you can see, Jim. You're sorry to see Bercow, a man who has abused his position abominably, go.
He often has a malevolent childish glint in his eye. I’m sure he see’s This all as a game, a lark, a one upmanship, a I’m better than you exercise. He deserves himself.
Brexiteers hate him for not allowing everything they wanted, Remainers like him for the same reason.

No one is surprised.
If you'd read my earlier post in full you'd also have seen that Bercow has been, at least partly, your friend, Naomi. He stopped Theresa just forcing her WA to vote after vote after vote.

Yes, I'm sorry to see him go. But, on the other hand, any Speaker who didn't facilitate the House in expressing its rejection of No Deal Brexit would have failed in their job.
the speaker is not meant to be the prime minister's man

I have no eyes to see nor ears to hear except what the house biddeth
and all that jazz from the sixteenth century

If there were general election and Bercow was standing I was gonna take a few days off and go and canvass for him
yeah Bercow berserk I am

hahahahahahaha that is so funny!

Jesus the wit and repartee on AB has to be read to be believed
Simple Simon Peter "has to be has to be read to be believed", I suggest.

Did AB's greatest jurist uphold the immoral decision of the corrupt judiciary flying the false flag of defending "Human Rights" in the case ES v Austria?
(I think the "learned" summary was "It was a legal decision for ***'s sake, why are ignorant ABers dragging this moral principle crap into the debate? Don't you know we're lawyers and far smarter than you lot?".)
Mozz7//1Brexiteers hate him for not allowing everything they wanted, Remainers like him for the same reason.//

Normal people couldn't abide him a long time before the Referendum was mentioned.
Personally, I think the job of speaker is a thankless one. As soon as either side had a decision that they have decided was bias or unfair (definition: anything they disagree with) go against them, calls of bias will come out from them, and their supporters.

Plus how can anyone appear unbiased when Rees Mogg is in the chamber. I'd find the temptation to verbally abuse him impossible to resist.

Stands to reason, I mean he was a Tory after all.
For Bercow to openly state that he was prepared to use every bone in his body to prevent a no deal brexit, is a bit much when he was supposed to be impartial.
It's probably for the best that Bercow has moved on. I was saddened to see that after his announcement of retirement that the House was so starkly and visibly divided on his legacy. Opposition and some Tory MPs stood up to applaud; many more Conservatives stood resolutely silent. A clearer sign of loss of basic respect and decency there has not been.

Perhaps it is fair to say, though, that a Speaker who elicits such a divided reaction has failed in their job.
How can you respect the man who failed in the most basic requirement of his job which was impartiality?
I do feel sorry for the Tory’s, their government is in pieces, and a laughing stock. Both on AB and parliament they are distraught , disappointed and sooo angry.
^^Exactly, my 00.31 point.
^^ that was to Vulcan's point.
Got to laugh at Lefties celebrating the demise of the (liberal) Tory Party.
You know who else wants them to disappear, normal people. (or far-right wing fascists as you call them)
I suspect they are at the dawn of a golden age(for them). Unopposed rule for decades.
Labour, on the other hand, are finished.
I, too, was saddened to hear that Mr Bercow will resign from his post next month. However, I was delighted by the announcement's sheer impishness.
No sooner had the Tories stated that they would enter a candidate in his constituency at the next General Election, in order to thwart his continuation in his post and in denial of parliamentary convention, than he said he'd be resigning from it!

I wonder how many of us recall the underhanded plot by Cameron and Hague a few years ago to get rid of him. That, too, was thwarted, so just who has had the last laugh...again?
If Mr Bercow had intended to fight for his seat at the next GE and I was part of the local electorate, I also would be out on the streets in support of him!
