... could yield a 40 seat majority at least. Also scrolling down the page to the 'Brexit Mapped' illustration is quite salutary especially for the Brexit saboteurs to see how out of touch they really are;

Only problem is that alliance depends on Boris delivering a no deal Brexit, so if, by any chance,he should achieve a deal would the offer still stand ?
If the next election were only fought on Brexit, then, yes, a Boris/Nigel alliance could be very powerful. But we'll see. And as danny says, Farage and Johnson are not really best friends. Indeed, as long as Cummings is a key adviser in Downing Street then the chances of such an alliance are virtually nil.
If a no deal Brexit occurs then the Brexit Party is irrelevant
ich, //if a no deal Brexit occurs then the Brexit Party is irrelevant//
How so ? There will still need to be an election if Boris is to have any sort of majority.
Brexit Party's main policy is to deliver a No Deal Brexit. If that's already happened then I think Farage would argue that his work here is done and let's not wreck the chances of the hero of the hour.
Why would anyone want to vote for the Brexit party if a no deal or indeed any sort of Brexit has occurred?
The main way the BP might help the Tories is perhaps by standing in some labour seats in the north, and not standing at all just about anywhere else. But the motivation would no longer be there to vote for them.
Johnson wants to crush the Brexit Party as he sees it as a threat to the Tories winning an election. Pre Brexit he does that by pretending to be them. Post Brexit he is not going to do a deal with them! That would be like knocking out your opponent and then offering them a draw.
An election where Brexit is still an issue is a different matter, however.
jim 14:14, yes if that were the case then you are largely correct, however the BP does offer Labour brexiteers an alternative to traditional Labour voters who could not countenance voting Tory, so I expect they will still stand in key seats.
In the event of a GE before we are out I'd expect any dissension regarding a pro-leave alliance to be overruled. It's too important for personal likes and dislikes, and the anti-democrats have already shown that they're willing to have a pact in order to defeat the majority vote re Brexit.

As for the Brexit party after Brexit, they have options. They can update themselves in order to be a multi goal party, or they could bow out. Or maybe seek a merger with another party. We'll have to wait and see.
If you look at the personnel of the Brexit Party, most of them are pretty motley crew, held together by Farage.
I know their cry was “change politics” but they have nothing serious to offer the country beyond Brexit. If that happens Farage will move on and they’ll go the way of UKIP.
ich: "If you look at the personnel of the Labour Party, most of them are pretty motley crew, held together by gawd knows"
ich: "If you look at the personnel of the Lib Nondems Party, most of them are pretty motley crew, held together by a love of NonDemocracy"
It depends on how serious Johnson is about No Deal. It's been merely posturing so far -- and that's according to Farage, rather than just me -- so I'm sceptical that a formal alliance would ever get off the ground.

When are you going to make me cough up then, TTT?
Jay Aston May well have hidden depths.
Also Ann Widdicombe :-)
In the latter case particularly it’s not an idea I want to pursue.
I think with the Brexit Party the clue’s in the name.
Post Brexit they’ll be as relevant as the Christmas Party on Jan 1.
Which is fair enough.
jim, anytime but these are strange times and I'm not sure of anything but if you want to concede I'll hereby promise to repay and payup should the situation change:

I only have rescue dogs and usually jack russells, I got my last fellow from these people. Oddly enough, NOT the one in my avatar but equally as tenacious. Hopefully they'll make it easy for you to donate. Thanks.
Boris may have no love for Nige, but both a pragmatic politicians, and can see the advantages for both in an alliance.

I just hope they can sort something before the current crop of Remain MP's thwart the will of the electorate in an irreversible fashion.
^ Second para. above - they are doing their level best and will not stop. Boris still has a mountain to climb.
Is that the same Nige that failed to get elected in 6 times trying. Who led a party for 10 years and only got some Conservative turncoats elected.

The Tories will NEVER enter into a pact with Farange. UKIP were the Tories biggest obstacle, and so are BP.

How do you know that? What I have seen, they come from many walks of life and experience, almost anybody would be better than many of the "motley crew" sitting in Parliament at the moment.
What is it that qualifies a person to be an MP?
What a lovely choice of charity, TTT. :)

I won't donate just now (off out shortly) but I wanted to post to say that I've seen it. Probably will get around to it tonight.

Regretting not insisting on November -- although the present opposition strategy suggests I might have lost *that* bet too -- but harder to lose to a worthier cause. And I'll still claim the moral high ground that the next election isn't going to be as far away as 2022 :P
What qualifies you to be an MP are the votes you receive. And that’s it.
I didn’t say they weren’t qualified. From what I’ve seen they wouldn’t be particularly good MPs.
Rather as UKIP didn’t make particularly good councillors by and large.
But the Brexit Party are there for one issue and good luck to them.
If they get what they are after then that will be that.
Think Jo swinson and the Lib dems will Win a lot of votes in the next G/e, and will end up holding the ace cards.
