Wanting a trial is no bad thing. But this choice of expression could have been less controversial.

He's dangerous 0_G, Lord help us if he ever gets in number 10
If you read Mr Corbyn's statement fully, it gives context to his observation that Bin Laden's death is a 'tragedy'.

He is not saying that the loss of Mr Bin Laden is a 'tragedy' as such, he is referring to it as one more tragedy in a series, and that is something entirely different.

Mr Corbyn also qualifies his point that Mr Bin Laden's death, as opposed to a legal trial, will be seen simply as an assassination by Mr Bin Laden's supporters, which will lead to additional unrest.

On that basis, I have no issue with Mr Corbyn's point f view.
I too feel that a trial would have been preferable but it was not to be. All violent death by the hand of other men is a tragedy, a sadness and proof to me that we have a long way to go. No matter how awful the crime I do not believe we have the right to revenge, only justice.
........which was the objective of Simon Weisenthal. If ever a man would have wanted revenge, it was him but he only ever sought justice.
What a wonderful example of a deliberately misleading headline. The tragedy wasn't Bin Laden's death, but the loss of the opportunity to put the man on trial. It would have been nice to him executed for his crimes. Have him hang publicly would have been more fitting.
"Jeremy Corbyn is as dangerous as Osama bin laden" is certainly a very strange view!

In a different way bednobs, in his beliefs which I'm sure don't include murder,it's well documented that if we ever found ourselves under attack, he would not press the button, in fact he'd scrap Trident, that kind of dangerous is what I meant, only my own point of view, no one else's
I understand what you mean Bobbi, but comparing Corbyn to a mass murdering, religious extremist is a tad OTT, don'tcha think?
Question Author
Yeah I guess so Moz,I'm often way out with my bold statements and not afraid to fess up,so I'll give you that :0)
It's all good Bobbi. It's what I detest about Boris, how similar to Idi Amin he is ;-D
Question Author
^^^^ haha, right answer
If you want to discuss his opinion of Trident, why not pose that in a thread instead of using a link to a four-year old article with a misleading headline?

I'm sorry but I take nothing on AB so seriously , there's so many differing opinion but that's all they are, so I put something up which you say is 4 yrs old in a article printed last Wednesday ,hardly a hanging offence but hey ho
You've got to hand it to Al Qaeda. They're sticklers for the old legal process.
The article is dated 10:15AM BST 31 Aug 2015 so I'm not sure why it resurfaced.

The article said he made the comments shortly after Bin Laden's death. He was killed 2.5.2011.
