I think people would be far more inclined to support the return of Parliament, if they thought that Parliament would do anything other than they have done for the last three years - which is present a concerted effort to avoid implementing the will of the electorate by any means possible.

The claim that the aim was to silence parliament is still opinion. It may well have been a convenient side effect. It is not on to discuss as if it were proven fact, and should not have judgement made as if it were.

I think most people are fed up of the antics both sides are using to get their way. That should probably all three sides - remain, leave with a deal, leave with no deal. I am equally sure that they all think they "know" the will of the people - that we didn't know what we were voting for, that we didn't vote to leave at all costs, or that we will have to leave without a deal as the mendacious EU will try anything to stop us.
The referendum was all that it could be or needed to be. No one could guarantee the result of negotiations so the question was about the outcome; come hell or high water.

I suspect most want close trading ties (and an open NI border) the differences of opinion is in the area of control. but the EU elite is primarily concerned with retaining control of the federal block, and are willing to see trade have issues to overcome in order to achieve that aim.
No 10 says this is "cobblers", but it seems that the Benn 'surrender' act is enshrined in UK law, while the article 50 is in EU law - interesting!

I`m not sure why some old has been PM who wasnt very good when he was in power thinks that he can castigate the current PM when the world is very different.
I don't see the conflict Khan. A50 doesn't, as far as I am aware, ban asking for an extension, as we already have done so yet appear to be still in the EU. Nor, as far as I know, does it bar rump parliaments forcing irrational acts to be obligatory on a PM. I'm unsure it allows any number of extensions though, I thought it referred to an extension, and we've already had one.
It's almost 30 years since Major came to power. At the time I thought he was the best of a bad bunch. How wrong I was! This is the man who called the opponents of Maastricht 'barstards'. Time he shut up for good.
