And now they are trying to bring the law down on Boris for not putting him name on a letter he has been forced to send and for speaking his own mind. It sickens me to the pit of my stomach that we have such a corrupt parliament.
It should be blatantly obvious what the minor stuff was and if got wrong would soon be told for another time.
MP's have websites don't they ? What's the difficulty in putting up info and polls there ? Besides major stuff tends to have wide coverage over a longer time so constituents are likely to make their views known by e-mail anyway.
I think one can look for difficulties in order to not progress, as per the Civil Service seen in Yes Minister, if one wishes.

/// ANOTHEOLDGIT, if there were only two parties, would there not be different factions and a wide range of opinions within each party? ///

I do believe that the US has only two parties the Democrats and the Republicans.
At least if we got rid of our fringe parties it would stop all these petty squabbles among them, let them then toe the party line, it wold be up to them.

There are two major political parties in America and there are other parties, although the minor ones have never had a seat in Congress.
There are differences of opinion and factions within the Labour and Tory parties so why would there not be the same if they were the only two parties in Parliament?

All those MPs were elected AFTER the referendum. They and their Party’s previous form as Remain supporting were known to the electorate, who enthusiastically voted them to be their representative in Parliament anyway. The people spoke, and they said yes to all these remainers, and people should respect the peoples’ choice.
'What an absurd political situation this will come to seem in historical terms. Labour, whose reason for existence has traditionally been to defend the working class, ends up abandoning its Leave-voting constituencies and defending the interests of the camp followers of global corporates who adore the idea of a borderless economy that they can so easily dominate.
In a breathtaking defiance of perceived reality, Jeremy Corbyn declared in the House yesterday: “Labour is not prepared to sell out the communities we represent.” Really? '

They have libraries. Like I said folk can try to support bad practice by finding problems and just building them rather than their solution to them. We don't get democracy by electing an elite to boss us around, we only get it by having a voice in decisions. No wonder voting seems to be becoming less popular and protests and interest groups considered more effective. Not to mention legal shenanigans.

That's very true. BUT....80% of them were returned whilst standing for the two main parties. Both those parties pledged in their manifestoes to honour the referendum and take the UK out of the EU. It is true that Labour qualified its stance by saying "with a deal" (or words to that effect). There should be no "Remain" element among the MPs from either of those parties and those obstructing our departure were elected under false pretences. More than that they are increasingly disingenuous. They have said for some time that it is the manner of our departure which has prevented them agreeing to just about everything. That is not true. It is the fact we are departing at all that troubles them; each and every obstruction they place in the Prime Minister's way is nothing to do with the method of leaving. It is designed to prevent us leaving at all.

No, mine's a Brexiter (nearly 70% 'Out' votes here) but I'm still considering, very seriously, whether or not to join the B.P.. May's deal was horrific - Boris' deal is just horrible and I can't go with it.....but at least we would eventually be out.
I rather hope that all the shenanigans will persuade the EU to say 'Non' to any extension and then we'll just leave. Please, please, please, please (n)…..
