Will It Be Just Jezza Going To The Funeral Or The Whole Front Bench?

Back in the mists of time (Well, October 1976 to be exact) 3 active members of the IRA tried to blow up the main gasometer in Belfast's Markets area. Instead, something went drastically wrong for them and they succeeded in blowing up the one with the least amount of gas in it. Oh yeah, and they also blew themselves to smithereens. As Regimental photographer, it fell to me to take photos of what bits we could find once the fire had all but petered out. I didn't get that many pics on the night but i visited the City morgue the morning after where, to my complete astonishment, i was met by 3 bodies on slabs waiting for me and my camera. The guys at the morgue had painstakingly pieced together this most gruesome of all jigsaws. So, in answer to davebro's question, they could very well 'find enough bits' for a funeral should they so wish:-))

Bet they never found any grey matter to put in the morgue on the slab. :-)
I recall the 'Paddy Factor'. PIRA used to fill a 5 litre oil can with petrol with a piece of Semtex on one side with a det in place. They used to put them in a carrier bag and leave them on the front window sill of the parlour as they passed the living room in the terraced houses. If they got it correct the unfortunate victims in the room would be engulfed by a fireball which would suck the oxygen out the front room and kill the occupants immediately.
More often than not they got it wrong and the can was placed the wrong way round.When the timer detonated Mrs O'Rourke got her eyebrows singed as a spectacular fire ball crossed the street as she gossiped with her neighbour.
When the Harrods bomb went up and blew both legs off WPC Jane Arbuthnott I got an awful bolocking for reuniting her torso with her limbs and covering her with a blanket. The press got there damn quick with their cameras at the ready. I had destroyed scene of crime evidence allegedly . Like we were not aware of the culprits!!!

/Quite amazed to read that Johnsons chief adviser Dominic Cummings lived for some years in RUSSIA and had links with the KGB.
It's quite frightening to think that he is advising our so called Prime Minister./
