I would have thought the parties would be in contact with the producer or director when confirming bookings, not the presenters.

I think TalkNews (which he was booked onto) is owned by Sky (or was) and probably share the same office building.
Sounds like Cleverley had a busy schedule this morning, and SkyNews wasn’t on it.
