Are They Overdoing This Whole Prince Andrew Thing?
31 Answers
All day yesterday all over the news, the interview done to death (huge mistake Andy!), Review of the papers, Prince bleeding Andrew again. Ok so I wake up this morning, new day, new news, nope He's all over the sme66ing news again, and on all the front pages! Sick to death of it, I couldn't give a rats April who he did or did not ****. He should have taken the traditional Royal approach, say nowt, certainly not give an interview to the ABBC.

As they are all supposed to be Royal they have no need to explain anything to the peasants. Can you imagine Queen Victoria or even HRH Elizabeth II giving intimate interviews about their private lives? If it was me I would have stuck ones finger up at the press and told them to mind their own B business. If the Police are not interested why should anyone else be?
Eddie, there is a story in the Financial Times on the subject (though mostly on the silliness of going on TV about it).
When the son of a former Prince of Wales was rumoured to have been involved in a scandal about a male brothel it was hushed up

As was the business about Edward VIII and Mrs Simpson.
On the whole, I prefer it when newspapers are free to mention what the royals are up to.

I think it's a bit OTT. Lots of stuff posted on Facebook calling him a paedo and nonce.
He's a Prince, his people should have monitored him better!!
No crime in preferring younger girls as long as they are of the age of consent. She was (by UK laws)
Should his name be dragged through the mud...absolutely!!

It gives the media something to chat about during the interregnum of the run-up to a G.E. (bad timing, Andrew) when they have to be circumspect in their political reporting - a real gift to them. He was very unwise to bring it up when it had been festering quietly and could have died - but he isn't the brightest of the bunch.... not sure if that includes the dorgies or not.
The point at issue, so far as I can see, is not that he's an unsavoury person (which I, personally, think he is), but if he had sex with an underage girl. Well, she was underage in the USA - but not in UK and the incident everyone is on about occurred in the UK. Too much legalese for me, but I am certain that this girl was not a dewy-eyed innocent. No fan of Andrew's and totally fed-up that we've been landed with him as Duke of York. Anyway, that's why the media go on about it.
