personally i don't think it is. I would like to see full life terms in prison for crimes of this nature.

Svenson Ong-a-Kwie, 19, and Arron Isaacs, 17, of Barking, were both convicted earlier this month after a trial at the Old Bailey.

Ong-a-Kwie, of Romford, will serve a minimum of 26 years while Isaacs was detained for at least 18 years.

"Minimums" are something... they can't be released earlier. I'm not sure anything will really be "justice" for her.

pixie perhaps not, but life term should be the case in this. It wont bring her back but the family get some justice

I passionately support the return of the death penalty for cases like this. The girl they murdered wasn't even their intended victim - she just happened to be in the wrong place at the wrong time.

i know the death penalty won't return to these shores, but there are times when i wish it would, then i get my head straight and know that it's not a deterrent.

I think that is unlikely unless they are convicted of further offences whilst in prison.

25 years minimum is the start point for murder with a weapon with leeway up or down. I think the sentences are correct but obviously wan't satisfy everyone.

No Dave, the theory is that that is the earliest they can be reassessed. Even if they commit no further crimes in prison, they have to be safe to be released or they stay in.

Quite Frankly I would like to see these low life worthless thugs be publicly hanged in the same park they cowardly slaughtered this poor young girl. Just let their gangster followers watch their heroes be led up the scaffold pleading for their Mums and urinating in their pants as the noose is placed round their neck. They may.... if they can prove they are safe enough. Or they may not. I'm not suggesting they should be ever allowed out, but there are no guarantees here that they ever will be. Which is probably as much as we can hope for nowadays. I think full-life terms are very rare.
