This lot cannot be that worried:
They plan to strike for 27 days in December. That's virtually all of the month except Thursday 12th (when, if I were the management, I'd tell them to stay out) and Christmas Day and Boxing Day (when few services run anyway).
Yes, it's quite true that train drivers earn in excess of £50k but:

That's not a good measure. To crash a train you have to be incredibly inept or incredibly unlucky. Yes, there's lots of things you need to know (as there are in many jobs) and each individual route has to be thoroughly learned. But their skills do not warrant the same pay as, say, a senior operating theatre sister.
