Labour has promised compensation to more than three million women who lost out on years of state pension payments when their retirement age was raised, if it wins the general election.
Seems like Labour are now absolutely convinced they will not win!
the act of parliament that increased the state pension age to 65 was in 1995, labour were in power 1997-2010, they did nothing but increased the SPA to 66 in2007.

no matter who was at fault, this could be a vote winner for Labour. I am not a supporter but feel cheated that i could have retired at 60....
And where's the compensation coming from? More pie in the sky.

Boris Johnson was challenged by one of the women affected in Friday's BBC Question Time leaders' special.

The prime minister said: "I do sympathise deeply with the Waspi women... but it is very expensive to come up with the solution you want."

"I cannot promise I can magic up that money for you," he added.
//Mr McDonnell said it would be funded by a "very special arrangement, a contingency, in the same way government in the past has dealt with matters in the past like this".//

What 'very special arrangement', 'contingency', is going to suddenly produce the £58bn required? That's a pretty special arrangement or contingency.
