I’ve visited Auschwitz and there is no way I’d want a tacky tree ornament to remind me of the horrors that went on there

Oh God there’s some sickos in this world ,sellers trying to cash in on one of the worst atrocities in our lifetime
Unbelievable! What on earth is wrong with some people!
Question Author
i don't know, but at least Amazon did the right thing, but to think there are people who are ok with making money out of such an atrocious time in our history, makes me so ashamed of them.
That really is disgusting.
Question Author
it is disgusting, and immoral.
Hard to imagine what's going on in the mind of anyone who would create such stuff.
Most of the sellers' products feature pictures from tourism sites around the world.

// A record 2.15 million people visited Nazi Germany's Auschwitz-Birkenau death camp in 2018. //

A lot of people are making money out of Holocaust Tourism.
Question Author
Gromit, don't you think it's vile..
Gromit, you won't find souvenirs on sale there. It is not a tourist attraction - far from it - and that is made very clear to visitors.
Question Author
because I do, its not enough that millions went to the gas chambers but for some people making money out of this terrible time seems beyond belief.
I wouldn’t put it on a Christmas tree, but I suppose someone who has visited the Auschwitz museum might want to display it.
The company is aiming this at the 2.1 million visitors. Even if only 1% buy something, that is a lot of money.
Question Author
then the whole wretched lot should be banned.
//A lot of people are making money out of Holocaust Tourism.//

It isn't only the Holocaust, it even has a name, in Budapest for example you can visit the former secret-police cellars where people were tortured. There are some weird people around; in the UK some people enjoy hare-coursing; something even Adolf Hitler would have banned.
//the Auschwitz museum //?

There is no museum.
^^ it should read, 'it even has a name, dark tourism'
//There is no museum.//

The whole place is the museum
https://jorist.wordpress.com/2015/03/03/auschwitz-souvenirs/

// Suddenly I found myself in front of a souvenir shop filled with Auschwitz souvenirs. There were T-shirts with vertical blue stripes and the text Auschwitz-Birkenau in bold curly letters. There were candles and fridge magnets in the shape of Auschwitz’s main building and small ceramic statues in the shape of the sleeping barracks. There were key chains and post cards with the text “Arbeit macht frei”, and many other things you would usually be able to buy in a gift shop. //
I disagree, Khandro. It's a memorial.
Question Author
appalling Gromit, just appalling
Why have you posted that, Gromit?
