Let's hope this isn't the start of another 2008.

Why would this be another 2008?

2.5 billion is nothing for the gov.
don't think the country could stand another 10 years of austerity...
Brexit related panicking ?
BUY BUY BUY !!!
£2.5bn would fund 8 days of the budget for NHS England.
To give some perspective, in October 2008 £90bn was wiped off the value of Britain's companies which led to Brown and Alistair Darling doing a £50bn bank bail-out.
I hate to be a pedant but M&G is an investment company - not a bank....At least, let's get the definitions correct or are you just seeking a 'headline'....
It's Canary, DTC. He only ever seeks a headline.
he should stick to tweeting then.
Canary has got form for incorrectly blaming banks.

No, the bankers have not done it again, unless you count yourself as a 'banker'.
no, that's a few coppers in bank terms.
As others have said, M and G is not a bank. The funds it operates are separately managed and ring fenced so one fund cannot be used to bail out another. I can't get access to the property fund information now but am guessing it would have been one of their high risk high return products. Not the same thing at all as the banks crisis.
