ich: "They sacrificed their political careers for whet they believed in", yes they did ich, but totally needlessly. The electorate have simply re-enforced their 2016 vote. politicians should stop second guessing and get on with it. TIG et al thought they knew better they thought the public were too stupid to know what they wanted, as happens from time to time, once again, the great British public have put their foot down and expunged the quislings.
From what I've been hearing politicians/politically enthused people/ex-politicians et al saying today and yesterday...…….. the penny still hasn't dropped. I can't believe that they are so far removed from reality - but it does explain a lot. They STILL think that they are right and that the rest of us are rather thick and racist and whatever epithet they want to throw at us. I really am disbelieving what I am hearing. :(

But not as intellectually blessed as to realise that her job (along with her 649 colleagues) was to implement the decision of the referendum as they had agreed when A50 was triggered (by 5:1) and when 80% of them (including Ms Soubry herself) stood on manifestos of ensuring the UK left the EU. Instead they saw their task as to thwart that decision made by the electorate and to renege on the undertakings they had made. They did this because it was, in their opinion, the "wrong" decision. Well, never mess with the electorate.You'll get away with it for a time whilst Parliamentary manipulations keep voters at bay, but eventually the voters will have their way.

Sarah Wollaston lost her seat to a Tory candidate last Thursday.
Former Labour MPs Chuka Umunna and Luciana Berger stood as Liberal Democrat candidates but were also defeated last week.
They didn't seem to understand that whoever was promoting a policy of delaying, altering or cancelling Brexit was likely to lose. The country had had enough of continual obfuscation, delay and obstruction. Now that the blockage has finally been removed there are already moves afoot to hinder the trade deal agreement planned for twelve months' time. Many suggest it will take years. Well neither the UK nor the EU has the luxury of years to ponder over dotted Is and crossed Ts. As well as that the EU is intent on imposing political control as a part of any trade deal (something, as far as I know, no other trade deals include). They may be disappointed. This country voted to remove itself from the political control of Brussels and by December next year four and a half years will have elapsed since it did so. That's more than enough time to ensure that life and business goes on sensibly unhindered and now that Ms Soubry and her odious colleagues are out of the frame that's what both sides should concentrate on.
