Nothing new there I guess as Iran's hate of America goes way back. The country has gone back to the dark ages since the 1980s and a whole generation of Iranians since then don't know any better.

Has anyone actually answered the question - I'm not going to wade through all these posts
According to Trump it has saved the lives of many by stopping a potential attack
I'm not party to the intelligence , so will have to take his word for it
On the flip side it has not made the world a safer place as claimed by Trump - I certainly don't feel safer
The Iranians are not going to sit back and do nothing
Terriost attacks on Western targets in one form or another are to be expected
The Iranians will certainly feel bolstered by the lack of public support by Western governments / allies including Britain , at the lack of support for the US action
We still live in perilous times and sadly I see no change for the foreseeable future

The trouble is that you don't have to take his word for it, and it's about what he would say anyway. It may be so; or it may be that his strategy of pulling troops away proved an embarrassing error, and he just got fed up with Iran trying it on and needling the US. Not that there hasn't been ill feeling from both sides.
The digression from the OP started @ post 24 @ 17:40 Fri 03rd Jan 2020 by anotheoldgit posting an off OP comment about a caller to talk radio and you immediately commented --- the very next comment @ 17:50 Fri 03rd Jan 2020 --- on it as though you had knowledge of that call/ or heard it ( which *you* refused to clarify when asked ) and things went 'downhill' from there. The posts [evidence] are there so anyone can read it with their own eyes.
I was not demanding nor accusing anyone and I had already contributed most of the post up to aog @ post 24.
