Andrew Neil has already had a go at this "drivel", but the reasons are well amplified here, don't you think?

Kids always have and always will laugh at farts and poop jokes. But the thing about Horrible Histories is that is supposed to be historically accurate. They use these programmes as a fun educational tool. Therefore inaccuracies should be called out and put right and tbh I do think it is propaganda. They do say that if you want to really and truely affect the...

Khandro - // AH //I don't see any lies at all - in the 'Horrible Histories' //

That figures! //

And why would that be?

Are you just being rude, or do yo actually have a point to make?
Maybe provide some examples then?
Of lies, that is.
Then the discussion will have more of a firm base
Khandro

I would imagine it is intently fact checked before broadcast.
Could enlighten us to some of the lies you think are there ?
>It's funny, though, and true.
It's funny- yes, in its own way.
And maybe it is true sometimes but not in the main. The person who came up with it probably doesn't understand how student loans work and is perhaps an inverted snob. They also don't seem to understand that people don't study Philosophy in order to get a job in Philosophy. And most apprentices don't earn anything like £80000 a year and will earn far less than graduates - apart from those who shouldn't really be at university and end up at McDonalds etc- but at least they will never have to repay their loans.
I've forgotten what the joke was now and how it related to this thread.
I cannot believe that Chris did a 4 year apprenticeship and his day job is cutting off people’s electricity. And for that pretty menial task he is paid more than my MP.

Not one single person has had their electricity disconnected for non payment in the last 2 years.

ff and Gromit - are you on the right thread?

Jeez, any more lefties want to deconstruct the joke to prove their ***-wittery?
As usual, deliberately mis interpreted by Gromit. It's not saying an apprentice is getting £80k is it? It's saying instead of going to Uni he spent the 4 years doing an apprenticeship and now, as a fully qualified electrician he's on a fairly modest salary of £80k.
// It's not saying an apprentice is getting £80k is it? //

No. And I never said it did.

Electricians are typically paid £30K not £80K.

All of History is a complete lie, twisted by survivors or those in a position to write it for future generations. We all know this as well but we go on like it can be perfectly documented. Thing is, now with the internet and everyone having access to a global network, history will begin to be written correctly. Pre the internet, can't believe anything really can you. Especially since our whole ethos is on BC and AD. Christians warping the history of our evolution and of the human race as a whole. Western history? It didn't all happen as we may think.
bloody bible bashers
most of them are self employed gromit, they'll get a lot more than £30k.
Tora,
I know you rarely read supplied links, so I will c&p the bit you missed

// An experienced self-employed electrician should be earning on average above £30K per year. In fact our research suggests that earnings are more likely to be around £35-40K per year //

Not £80K.

Well we can start with the assertion that the British royal family is "German". HRH Queen Elizabeth is a direct descendent of Queen Victoria & you can check her ancestry here;

Impossible to prove all History is a complete lie, actual dates of events might be accurate. {;o)
It would have been written by the 'survivors' probably ONLY if Authority allowed it, Authority wrote the rest. (review the accepted ['survivors'] Nuremberg Trials if you dare )

I am not aware of which internet version of "global network history" you have access to, but the myriad versions of 'History' that the Internet has enabled massively dwarfs the confusion, distraction and deceit that paper allowed.

Pre-Internet 1 + 1 = 2 and it still does; we should all realise the huge amount of daily life we all take 'on trust'.
Queen Victorias real name was Alexandrina. Her mother was German Princess Victoria of Saxe-Coburg-Saalfeld. Her father died when she was 2 years old so she was brought up speaking German and was bilingual. She married he German cousin Prince Albert of Saxe-Coburg and Gotha. Victoria’s offspring therefore had 3 German Grandparents.
The Queen’s father George V was great grandson of Victoria.
A popular jibe among lefty libzzs, when it comes to the Royal Family, is they're all foreign. This of course considered an absolutely impermissible description of anyone else in the country who is, “of foreign descent".
Even when they have only been here for 5 minutes, were illegal immigrants, and are doing their best to blow us sky high whilst on lavish benefits.
