Not Really Prepared.
According to the health department, every NHS hospital as got to set up a coronavirus pod, beds set aside just in case. When the health minister was asked if we are prepared for such an out break, his answer was we already have 500 beds set aside ready. Does he really think that's enough considering how fast this spreads, regardless of the fact that we cannot cope with normal numbers of winter flue. Who they kidding.

Support staff who work in the community are offered extra hours or taken away from the jobs that can wait, like giving routine rehab, collecting equipment that is no longer used, running things like exercise groups or relatives support groups, and those hours go into temporary home support but again the capacity and length of time that this will work for are both limited so you don’t do it till you have to.
Jeez, just realised the 3rd case was diagnosed at the hospital I use, the Royal Sussex in Brighton. The patient went to A&E on Sunday night and was tested. Results came back positive today so taken to London. Not sure if he was kept in isolation for the 5 days while they waited for the results, I'll check in my link. Don't think I'll bother going out until it's all over as I'm probably a prime candidate to get it.

14.35 Woofgang I'm not disputing anything you say, and understand what you are saying. But when you hear of hospitals and ambulance staff already under great strain, and have been for years, what confidence is one expected to have in the system should we face the same problems as China. We have problems in this country handling a heavy snowfall. :0)

surprisingly enough - we just dont know - and it now seems to be clear that the chinese authorities have been lying and are aware that this was a big mistake
so the ship and arrowe park will be good labs to see how long the incubation period is - when the patient starts spreading it, and how long it lasts, and how it is spread
all of which even tho there are 25 000 cases we have no idea about
they are now saying in England it is only gonna be human to human and fomites ( clothing, services etc ) are insignificant - exactly the opposite of two weeks ago
the only thing that is certain is that they have no idea

well the mortality of Spanish Flu was 2%
which seems incredibly low
the popular memory is that whole towns were wiped out
and in China, the number of confirmed cases is a number where 2% gives the number of deaths reported. 560 deaths and 28 000 cases
the problem is that they have been saying people arent dead when er they are
