You possibly could have been (according to the police) depending on what opinions you may have expressed on this site and elsewhere.

Barmaid - "The police have gone too far this time."

How do you know that ?

Have you seen all the tweets ?
That should worry everyone.
Yes it should worry everyone.

Evidence should NOT be 'weasel words', eh Douglas ?
sevenOP - as Barmaid is a barrister I think she's making an educated guess.
The Law is not a 'guessing game'. Facts are not guesses.
Facts are interpreted by learned people.
If a Sox foot bearded male takes offence at being called Sir when he decides to identify as woman, that is crazy.
Six
It's a fact that a six foot bearded male is not a woman and never will be. You don't have to be learned to know that.
"Facts are interpreted by learned people."

'Interpretation', indeed, religions and other ideologies try to foist their interpretations of 'alleged' facts AS facts.
Done often by the pilpul.
It's rare you can get all the facts. You'd have to be a mind reader to do that.
"It's rare you can get all the facts. You'd have to be a mind reader to do that."

That's why speculation and jumping to conclusions are NOT Law.
(and Guilty AND Not Guilty are the end CHOICES )
No SevenOP. I read the judgement. I stand by the fact the police went too far.

I may not like what Miller said but I think it right he is entitled to express his views. It wasn't aimed at one person; it wasn't incitement. It wasn't a crime.
I can't do links on my phone but it's available if you Google it. All 65 pages of it.....
"I can't do links on my phone but it's available if you Google it. All 65 pages of it....."

and ALL the tweets?

AND the rest of the 'evidence' in totality ?
No. Clearly ALL the evidence isn't revealed. As I said I don't necessarily agree with what he said. But his right to say it ought not be curtailed.

Unless you have ALL the tweets and ALL the evidence....

My opinion is based on what seems a reasoned and fair judgement. I can only base my opinion on what is available to me. And not what *Might * be available if I had read the entire trial bundle.
"No. Clearly ALL the evidence isn't revealed. As I said I don't necessarily agree with what he said."..... but "I read the judgement. I stand by the fact the police went too far. " and "The police have gone too far this time."

So the 'barrister?' agrees (without the Full Evidence) with the 'Learned' Judge. [ or, has the opinion the Judge ruled correctly ]

NO offence intended Barmaid, as long as people like ummm are FULL aware it is only YOUR 'opinion'. Which everyONE is 'entitled' to/too?/two??

I have no opinion on the Learned Judge's ruling as I have not seen all the evidence.

Unfortunately many 'conform' to Professional 'opinions' too readily.

Well of course you are entitled to your opinion. I am entitled to mine. Based on Knowles J exposition of the facts and the law my view has not changed (a view I formed before I read the judgement).

I have no expertise in this area so I have nothing available to me that others don't.

The problem is the police spend time dealing with (admitted by them) non crimes when real hate crimes go on without investigation.

sevenOP - This site is full of opinions and speculations. Not many 'experts'
Barmaid, if you elaborate on what this 'view' you had before this 'ruling' was even arrived at, we may get a better handle on your position .

"my view has not changed (a view I formed before I read the judgement)."

I agree with some of your comment @20:05 Fri 14th Feb 2020
and our 'positions' might not be differing.

ummm, I realise "This site is full of opinions and speculations. Not many 'experts' ",------- being 'an expert' does not make your decisions/judgements/opinions/speculations/etc 'RIGHT'.
History makes that ABUNDANTLY clear.
