This indicates if you're somewhere without a vegan or vegetarian option then you need to starve because the company won't pay for you to eat.

they're not vegans. The staff didn't want a vegan policy so there isn't one.

you could always bring your own sarnies and pay for them yourself, TD. I never had an employer who paid for my meals.

I have had plenty of meals bought for me over the years from sandwiches to posh nosh. Shold I have had to sit there with some disgusting vegan muck or gone without? On every occasion those that didnt eat meat were catered for.

I would just have to take a raw liver sandwich into work, dripping in blood, and if anybody objected, I would claim an affront to my human rights and religious freedom, as I worship the consumption of raw meat dripping in blood, and find it offensive to see vegetables and fruit consumed.

you read the story, did you, ymb? They can eat all the meat they want, the company just won't reimburse them for it.

You have missed the point. My meals were paid for/reimpbursed.

my husband went for a job in the eco industry a few years ago. It was site based and they said he was not allowed to use his 2004 diesel land rover to drive between sites (well he could use it but not claim mileage/diesel). he had a choice, and its no different

They usually get their apporved discrimination through by using such convenient phrases as 'positive discrimination' or, across the pond, 'affirmative action', call it what you like, it's discrimination.
Were a company to say you could only claim for meals that contain meat can you imagine the bead rattling?

I think it’s fair enough. I used to cook meals for our staff. If they didn’t want it for any reason - diet, allergies, fussiness - they sorted their own food out. We didn’t pay for them to have something different.
