Anyone know where I stand? I know I have an option to go but my age is against me in finding a job. Cheers for any replies

No doubt you will be paid to learn too.... I had to pay for my own course on computer skills in my own free time years ago when it was deemed to a vital part of my work...of course the younger people were already there!! Go for it and good luck
Where I work (Morrison’s) we have to be multi functional.
We have our core skills but work mainly in our preferred area.
Although I work in the customer cafe and I don’t have to know or learn shop floor procedures (unless I want overtime in that area) I do have to know all the procedures for the cafe. I could be at the customer till one minute and cooking and platting up the food the next then clearing tables and washing up the next.
Even in the cafe we have our preferred section to work on and can usually get to do that most of the day but we do bob from one thing to the next.
Somewhere like Lidle you have to do everything but they are much smaller.
How big is your outlet and is it part of a national chain?
