The PM is engaged in a battle the likes of which we've not seen. The responsibility is colossal & he is working tirelessly.
We live in a free society, so anyone can be a backseat critic.

//Zac for London Mayor//

Alas not a chance, retro. Two thirds (21) of London's 32 borough councils are Labour controlled. A slightly higher proportion than that (49 of 73 , or 67%) of London's parliamentary constituencies returned a Labour MP. It will be a very long time - if ever - before London returns a Conservative mayor.
If people say that London won't have a Tory Mayor for some time because of the political make up of the capital, think about Boris Johnson's reign as Mayor from 2008 to 2016.

//The 2008 mayoral election was a battle to the death, squeezing the Liberal Democrats badly. In the end and with second preference votes taken into account, Johnson beat Livingstone by 53% to 47%//

//This was a comfortable margin in a two- horse race. While Livingstone could reasonably point to the Labour Party’s unpopu- larity in the parallel local elections//
