Deduct top rate tax before paying it - they can afford it.
I doubt that the whole nation will be using it.
But if it's still peanuts, all the more reason to waive the charge.

Roy if you wish to knock the Royals, best start your own thread on it
Here in Girona, those of us with flats that are normally let out to tourists have been asked to let healthcare workers use them – quite a few have a long way to travel and others live with vulnerable people. Even though we couldn’t charge for them and would have to pay all the bills, a couple of companies that have quite a few have handed all their flats over. I thought that was very good of them. Yesterday I asked our community if they would mind if I let them use one of our lofts but some are not keen at all because of the increased risk of infection.

//I read that SCM, a company that specialises in investing in businesses hit by falling share prices, stand to make a fortune from the virus. A certain Jacob Rees Mogg has a 15% stake in SCM.//

Crikey! Such foresight - or was it a crystal ball?

//Good friends of our Charlie Windsor, of course.//

Ah, that’ll be it then.

I've rarely read such twaddle on here!
Come on, N. You engage with our resident religious fruitcakes on a daily basis.
True. :o)
the JRM firm says investors have a "once in a generation chance" of "super normal returns" by investing in companies whose shares have been hit by the virus, according to the Mirror.

Sounds pretty tasteless to me.
Tasteless it may be, jno, but investment keeps the wheels turning. You wouldn't have much of a pension without it.
not a penny of my pension comes from looting victims of coronavirus.
I don't doubt it - but had it happened years ago who's to say?
Ian Lavery, Leader of the Labour Party, also said it was a great opportunity.
For those that don't know him;

Did you mean Roy?
you're right, Spicerack, I don't know Ian Lavery, Leader of the Labour Party. Is this some other planet? The Labour leader where I live is named Starmer.
The job of an investment company is to invest. It'd be weird if they let opportunities go. But stock market transfers are a different matter to making a fortune charging the public for something vital when helping others is the moral order of these troublesome times.

Is there a cure for this please ? :0(((
Some fresh air might do it bobs 13.27 for a cure, but I must admit I did try it myself yesterday, but due to an army of joggers coming from all directions spluttering excessive saliva, and spitting on the pavement has they passed me, I hurried home. May be joggers should wear masks?
