IT doesnt matter whether they can prove the claims or not, China has sovereign immunity.
I suspect this is more about raising awareness. The way to hit China is to stop buying their goods. OK, before the hordes on here atart screaming "Apple" yes it will be difficult but certainly a significant drop could be achieved. As for the US it is more about taking control back from China and MAGA.

Not strictly true and in the case with China I think there may be a case for re-balance. We need to bring manufacturing back to the West somehow so slapping a tariff to balance the books against 'slave labour' and deliberate undercutting(loss making) may help in this.

China has a great capacity to undercut production costs.
A good part of the west’s economy is tanking (after Covid it should get better!!).
Unemployment is shooting through the roof.
Who will be able to afford the often more expensive home grown staples?
I do think we need to bring home, here, in Europe and the US, manufacturing, production and growing etc but do see a problem with affordability for the less well off. That’s where China will slip in. But I do think economically we can hurt China if where possible avoid their products.

Cassa, it’s some facts I’m after on which your assumptions (or rather your ‘guarantee’) are based. Sorry, but you’re not an economist so I’m not just going to accept your rather flimsy ‘things are bound to get better’ theory. So if you could answer me these questions I’ll have a better idea of what your theory is based on:
What timescale are you talking about?
How much will the millions of people being furloughed cost?
How many people will be made redundant and be on state benefit when this is over?
How much will the above cost our economy?
How will our currency against other countries be affected? and in turn how will thIs affect trade?
That will do for starters. I may have some fine detail questions should you be able to answer any/all of the above.

When the pubs/restaurants and fast food outlets are allowed to open they will be packed out - they may even need extra staff.
People who have been unable to get a tradesman will be falling over themselves to pay hiked up prices for a builder/plumber/electrician.
Hundreds of thousands of people will be flocking to UK tourist areas , B& B and Hotels will be full to capacity and there will be queues at every fish and chip shop.
Small manufacturers will slowly grind back into production, no doubt helped by generous loans from the Government ( ok that's harder to believe but bear with)
Things are not going to be as bad as is made out, however the longer we insist on this unnecessary total lockdown, the harder it will become to get back to any sort of normal
