A bit of a dud article.
Of course business want the lockdown to end, as most people do. The fact that they have given the Conservatives money doesn’t necessarily mean they will be listened to over the medical and statistical evidence of keeping lockdown.
The Government made a big mistake by introducing social distancing far too late. They feared damage to the economy so they did nothing for a month. That led to the virus spreading, and long term, that will harm the economy far more and lockdown here will probably be longer than some of our European neighbours.
The UK data is a mess and very unreliable, but it is clear that the number of deaths and new contagions is still far too high to ease restrictions, despite what Boris’ immoral and self interested backers want.
Boris brought in restrictions far too late, he won’t make the mistake of easing them too early.
