....looks like their recent actions against the US president could well backfire. Oh dear, about time these cess pits were reigned in.

^ Your act is getting extremely tedious. Try a new one.
If it helps crack down on online bullying, I'm all for mpre more stringent checks on social media outlets.

Having said that, Trump trying to clean out the social media swamp where he is the biggest alligator seems somewhat unlikely.
Trying to legislate against a company trying to protect users, seems ridiculous. How far is this going ? Will companies get stuck between a rock and a hard place, being sued for not acting, whilst bring sued for acting ?

ummmm has gone a bit quiet on this thread! PMSL!
"The idea that someone pointing out that you're wrong is an attack on free speech just serves to show how far sensible discussion has fallen."

Well that depends on how you define 'wrong' doesnt it.

If the platform get involved in anything but blocking illegal or defamatory content then they will become censors of free speech. Of course if you agree with what they do you will be happy but what when boot is on other foot. Trump may write some garbage on there but so what, millions of others do too. At least you get to see the true him rather than a tailored, doctored and perfect version you normally see of leaders.

Yes it could backfire on them TTT, The Donald is not to be messed with lightly as he really doesnt care what people think of is actions despite claims to the contrary by the liberal elite.
Trump doesn’t have any power to ban twitter in the US.
Even if he did, it would be relatively easy for them to route their servers through another country.
If hundreds of millions of US citizens could not use there social media because of Trump, the backlash to his popularity rating would be massive.

The leftards always look to 'fact' checkers for their 'facts'. Shows how fecking stupid they are.
He does have powers to make life difficult for them, gromit.
The only people it would make him unpopular with is mental lefties who love the bias on social media. And he ain't too popular with those rissoles now.
Twitter is allowed to post on its own platform. They haven't blocked or edited a word Trump wrote.
Ellipsis, it seems that some think that Twitter are allowed to sensor or edit anybody they want, as long as it's not Trump. It's a case that you do as he tells you or you're an enemy of truth, justice and the American dream.
They removed him once.
They only sensor right wing views. Everyone knows that.
Was that before he was Prez, Spicey?
They sensor offensive or extreme views, regardless of politics.
I meant they haven't blocked those two tweets or edited any of the words in them.
Spicerack,

Thanks for the good news.
There are 72 million active twitter users in the US, and according to you they are lefties. Trump got only 62 million votes in 2016, so it is easy to see why he wants to ban it before an election.

Twitter has never banned Trump.
They deleted a Tweet once because he used copyrighted music and he didn’t have permission to use it.
