The ex police officer seen on video kneeling on George Lloyd's neck has been charged with 3rd degree murder. Is that like manslaughter or is it an actual murder charge?
I hope this poor man's family get justice for him.

Two accidental and tragic death by cop in the USA. Both have alarming similarities. Two innocent women (white) killed whilst two cops, one black/American the other Asian/American cop attempt to shoot their dogs. Separate incidents in different states.
There the similarity ends. There were no inter-state riots, looting or general criminal mayhem by the white communities.

He wasn't choked to death.
This won't let me cut and paste but: 'The autopsy revealed no physical findings that support a diagnosis of traumatic asphyxia or strangulation. Mr. Floyd had underlying health conditions including coronary artery disease and hypertensive heart disease.'

Allegedly. the family's lawyers are pressing for an independent autopsy:-

ME's office says "Under Minnesota state law, the Medical Examiner is a neutral and independent office and is separate and distinct from any prosecutorial authority or law enforcement agency,"
Family's lawyer says "We saw in the Eric Garner case, and so many other cases where they have people who work with the city workers come up with things that are such an illusion -- he had asthma, he had a heart condition -- all these things that are irrelevant when they were living, breathing, walking, talking, just fine until the police accosted them,"

The rioting is appearing to be orchestrated by outside 'agents', many of those arrested are from elsewhere. Evidence exists of pre-planning: there have been pallets of bricks left on sidewalks for people to throw. People have been seen to be breaking store windows and walking off so that others may enter.
There is much that is odd about this, it is very easy to see conspiracies everywhere. This time they may be true...?

^ I'd be astonished if that was true.
Why do you bring wimmin's *** into every thread?
Twice as many white people are killed by the US police despite blacks committing the majority of violent crimes. (from 14% of the population)
The statistics on black crime are astounding. Suggest some of you read up on them before talking crapola about racism.

Most US States have 3 degrees of Murder, - one, unequivocal as to evidence and where they have it, resulting in the death penalty. Murder 2 - the maximum is life and more leeway as to circumstantial evidence is given, Murder 3, the equivalent of our manslaughter. Most verdicts are like ours (except Scotland), guilty or not-guilty, but the concept of double jeopardy is coming into play in some states and one can be hoiked back in - which is de facto a version of not proven that the Scots use (and very sensible that is in my opinion).
As to Minneapolis, it's a city I know pretty well, having been there over 30 times as I used to do a lot of consultancy work for Cargill. The area of town where the murder took place is pretty ropey - most of the BBC shots last night were from St. Paul and not Minneapolis as they claimed - the first shots were within a cricket ball's throwing length of where I often stayed, the rather nice St Paul's Hotel - however, they are one as the Twin Cities, divided by the Mississippi, just as Budapest is two and split by the Danube.

Though serious, it's not the same scale of Martin Luther KIng's death when there was rampaging and protests in 125 cities in the USA. What we have here is a heady brew of murder by the police and a brutal one, the effect of Covid 19 on employment (and largely the black population hit hard) and protests against the Republicans. I don't think there's much that they can do at the moment to quell it, other than let it simmer down and 'police' it through. This is when Trump cold have used Obama but that's not going to happen though Obama may step up independently and appeal for calm.
