BLN demanding offensive ( to them) all that depicts the past ?
Like Nazi Germany’s Hitler ( Fawlty Towers )
And Churchill .....
Surely if it hadn’t been for Churchill ,things would have been unthinkable for Jews,Gay people etc
Or is it the BBC being it’s usual biased self ?

I hung a sign on my front door saying NO IRISH but Mrs T came in anyway :-(
Question Author
Not ever witnessed that Tony
There were lots of signs in the late 1940s saying --'No Blacks, No tramps ,No dogs but I never saw any with 'No Irish'.In fact there were lots of Irishmen over here working and helping to build the roads. My Aunt had a lodging house for Irish labourers and they were hard working ,good people. Later on in 1950s when we lived on a farm it was common practice for the Irish men to come over to help with the haymaking. This was in Lancashire .
A year or two ago Cheshire Police advertised for recruits and stated non whites only.
They bad their knuckles rapped.

So really there was white on white racism way back when?
That was in Smethwick, Bobbi.

I thought it was the early 60's, Jackdaw. Couldn't quite remember which GE it was though.
No doubt the BLM, or whatever, mob would agree with that sentiment as one would assume that in those days it referred to the white population amd according to theor slogan white lives don't matter.

Its an interesting comment from a few though
effectively "I never saw them (signs) so they didn't exist"
TTT, if that response is to me, don't shoot the messenger. My post just indicates the way things were back then and the attitudes some people had.

TTT, much as I respect and agree with most of your threads and posts, even though I don't get involved with many of them, I am not going to respond to your obnoxious post at 2258.
