Bbc Radio 15-Minute Drama

I listened to the 15-minute drama this morning. The preceding programme was Women's Hour, hosted by Jane Garvey. A microphone in the Women's Hour studio must have been left on as Jane Garvey could be heard commenting about a contributor at the start of the radio drama. Along the lines of "she sounded about 12, she's my age, needs some voice training". Rude or what!

You would have thought it would be easy to replace the "offending" version with a clean one.

there's nothing very rude about an experienced broadcaster saying another one needs voice training. Most people have opinions about the skills of their colleagues. Leaving your microphone on is careless but it isn't rude.

I agree with jno....not in the slightest bit rude.
We all have opinions....but don't broadcast them to the nation.
Just a bit of bad luck on her part.

We all have opinions about other people but most of us have the good manners not to make snide comments about them behind their backs, even worse that it was on national radio. Just my opinion.

really? This must be some new corporate practice brought in since I retired!

Well, I could point out that someone with a basic level of literacy knows that sentences should start with a capital letter and suggest they go back to school to learn how to write. But that would be rude ;-)
