Time For Boris And Hancock To Go?
86 Answers
This is getting ridiculous now. Chopping changing rules here rules there but never anything done when left wing protests happen. Who won the election, was it Jezza after all?
The other day Rishi hands out cash to try to get people to go out. Compulsory face-masks (far too late now so clearly just a Government control thing) will put many off going out - it could well be the end of the high street.
So for me Boris needs to go along with Hancock. Let Rishi step up to the plate.

what we have here in political terms is common sense going out of the window to appease the 75% of the population who are thick as pig excrement. The Gov know it's bow locks but like all politicians their primary focus is popularity. So they do things they know are wrong/silly/unnecessary to appeal to the great unwashed in order to preserve some level of approval. Scientific advice will be cherry picked to align with political intent. It doesn't matter who is in no 10 the result would be the same. We just have to ride this out until eventually returning to normal becomes the new favoured thing. Personally I'd go back to normal tomorrow.
I would imagine that the compulsory mask thing is as much about encouraging the alleged mass of people who are too scared to go out without one, to go shopping. That may be a good thing, but I'm not aware of any poll or research that has been done to see whether such a mass of people exists, and whether it outnumbers the people who might bw pu toff going out in a country which simply does not have the culture of face coverings.
I have been having a quiet bet with myself that Johnson would not lead the Tories into the next election, but it's far too early really to say. Mr Sunak is popular now - he looks calm, composed and rational alongside the PM (which is also SKS's big advantage), but will he be as popular when he starts grabbing back the money he has been handing out, as inevitably he must at some future time.

That is what this government has been doing ever since BJ became PM, in case you hadn't noticed :-)
Another good example: "people are complaining about foreigners bringing the virus into the country: let's slap a quarantine on ALL incoming air passengers" - something that has been quietly dropped (actually not that quietly)
