I was in Birmingham and environs today and noticed that the unmasked were of the BAME persuasion.

Maybe, maybe not a contributory factor, I don't know.

As an aside, I was taken aback by the temperature having left the frozen north at 06:45 on a southbound train and found my fleece surplus to requirements.

Generally speaking, the temperature rises, in the summer, as the day wears on. ( in most of the UK)
