"Mr Frost said Brussels was making the discussions "unnecessarily difficult" by "insisting" on the UK signing up to the EU's state aid and fisheries policies." - you ain't having our fish and we decide who we "aid" - ok monsieur!

The EUSSR has been decimating our fishing stocks and industries for decades. At the same time our fishermen were forced to throw back in, dead or alive, perfectly edible and saleable fish because they had exceeded a "quota" set by the EUSSR. They forced our fishermen to scrap, or sell their boats....sell them to the EUSSR no less, who promptly gave them to the...

I am unsure why you have posted that TCL. It seems to be a really good reason to leave the EU!

"Auditors say the accounts have been accurate since 2007. But they have historically recorded significant errors in how money is paid since their first audit in 1995."
Mozz @12.21, Isn't it funny , I also think your posts are virtually identical to Tora's, nowadays.
YMB 12.33 , you are talking rubbish as usual . I will not be walking around a supermarket with bare shelves , but you will be.

ooo the brains trust has spoken!
I follow discussions and views but very rarely contribute but recently Gulliver has been making assertions that this country is going to suffer diabolical devastation when we leave the EU. I am wondering when he had these Nostradamus moments and could he share with us what is going to happen so we can prepare.

Bare shelves? Gully's lost the plot, if he ever had it in the first place.
I voted remain, but if I were to have voted to leave, the fisheries policy would have been top of my list why.

It is a scandal that we surrendered our waters in such a way, while Spanish super trawlers were allowed to hoover-up the sea.
Togo you are so very right. government behaviour on this issue is ridiculous.
We had four fishmongers on our High Street and fish was as cheap as chips, literally. Now if I want fish I have to go to a supermarket and pay the same price as I would for fillet steak. Thank you, Mr. Heath, for nothing.
I hope you all have your street protesting trousers washed and ironed for when the truth dawns that nothing has, or will, change.

Strides, surely?
Presumably, they'll "get it" around about the same time you lot realise that "No Deal" would be a disaster. Not on the scale of Covid's economic cluster****, but a disaster nonetheless.

As an aside, why are they "our" fish? Or the EU's, for that matter.
^Groundhog day. Sigh ....
Don’t you think that coming out of Covid May help us come out of Europe? All countries will be suffering financially and therefore be much more willing to trade. With anyone!
They are our fish if they are are in UK territorial waters. Doesn't take a Ph.D to work that one out.
They would be welcome to fish for asylum seekers in anybody's waters!
