ymb//what about the other songs they will be singing.//
If there is no audience who will be singing?
ymb//It is difficult to imagine how a Last Night of the Proms will look, sound and feel without the atmosphere of a Royal Albert Hall packed full of Promenaders//
Good for the majority outside the M25 (or possibly a few London postcodes)!

That was fabulous Lankeela. I prefer LOHAG though, but that's just me.
God save the queen

God save the queen
She's not a human being

And England's dreaming

Thanks for that johnny!
Talking about Hope and Glory, this is a fantastic movie about a boy growing up during WW2 in London. And yes, it does feature LOHAG in it. It's one of those movies I would watch numerous times:

That looks very good sanmac, will have to look out for that.
LOHAG should be our National Anthem , we need some patriotism back , America flies their flag with pride, we should too

Agree Bobbs.
good for vera
I am not too sure that if you dont like something in history then you bleach it out and
murmur - there ! that is much better
A lovely tribute to the late Dame Vera to top the ITunes charts.

It is a shame that the audience and a large choir will be absent from the Proms this year, but the line up looks varied and interesting - we'll get by.

Indeed pp 'good for vera' !
danny, //If there is no audience who will be singing? //

A soloist will sing a couple of songs at the Last Night of the Proms - Jerusalem is one of them.
Why wouldn’t the BBC play it?

Have they said they won’t?

Seems like you are all gloating about something that doesn’t exist.

Radio listenership is declining nationwide, because people prefer to stream their own music. Amazon music has a Vera Lynn channel.
I hope the crowds will still turn up in Hyde Park, and sing their hearts out, I'm sure some brave musicians will venture out too, and if the BBC holds its breath, and stops its PC noncense for an hour they might even televise it.
Can we guarantee that if large crowds gather in a park we won't have threads denouncing them as happened with folk gathering on beaches?
Well they can social distance and remove their masks to sing.
Question Author
16:07, I am so glad someone is singing 'Jerusalem', a lovely song.
OK

I shall do as I always do, turn the sound up and sing - I may go on the balcony with a pan lid and spoon too.

Quite nostalgic.
