Does the same apply to Nicola and the Welsh leader, Teacake who are choosing to do almost exactly the same. And Keir broadly supported the changes last week and wouldn't change the general cautious approach- he may even be more cautious- although he may inspire a bit more confidence than Boris does as people will have a go at him as revenge for Brexit or choose to comment on his personal life when they run out of points of substance
"he has only followed the advice of the scientists who are advising the government"
This isn't necessarily a criticism of either the PM or scientists, but there is a wealth of advice out there, a lot of it contradictory, and you cannot follow all of it. A PM has to make difficult decisions based all that. You don;t just "follow the science" or you shouldn't
I'd be the first to admit the PM has a very, very difficult job and I don't envy him one bit. But I think he's making a mess of things even so.

"Funny how they are now blaming the public for the spread, but not their lazy attitude to getting track and trace up and running. go go go " etc etc
This is why it's a damn difficult job, and where I sympathise with the government. You have to balance stimulating the economy, which is ultimately all our livelihoods, and contolling the virus.
My criticism would be that there doesn't appear to be a strategy within that:
- try and "beat" the thing?
- control it until there's a vaccine?
- just live with it?
It's because there isn't that so many of these things appear contradictory. It's certainly the case that other governments are also struggling. N
