the lockdown isn't level 4, its the risk level that is level 4. What we can and cannot do is said to be going to change from the previous full lockdown.

ich.Boris is in the HOC announcing the restrictions which are as you state.Schools, universities and colleges are to remain open as are shops.More places are to wear face covering with higher penalties for non-compliance.No need to shield unless in a local lockdown area.People who can should work from home but if not possible should go to work.Large fines introduced for businesses who do not obey any Covid rules.

I disagree. I switched off when he started manipulating stats by claiming the death rate had 'doubled', a ludicrous thing to say when in low figures. And again he failed miserably to explain why the measures were taken and how each would make what difference.

In addition we see more job losses to come in the hospitality induistry. For what ?

Well I think blindly assuming that the infection rate would double until it reached 50,000 is contentious to say the least

they didn't blindly assume....they showed what would happen if the current exponential (2 4 8 16 32 64) rates continues. If you want a good example of the figures involved google rice grains in a chessboard.
