The Biden camp suggested moving the second debate back a week to the date scheduled for the third debate and the Trump camp appear to have agreed to that.

The Trump camp also wants the third debate put back a week but the Biden camp are saying thats too close to the election date.

the referees presumably want less of a bun fight /slanging match- which is harmful to the office of President
and are using his failure to follow covid guidelines as an excuse

I think it is a sensible decision. I'm on record on here as saying before, like others, that these debates are a waste of time even when done in person. The general public learns nothing from them. I just hope this is the start of their (the debates) demise.

That's a strange interpretation of what Trump's doing. He *wants* to "debate", but only on his terms. Goodness only knows why his terms exclude virtual debates, considering how often he's conducted virtual interviews with Fox&Friends, etc.

the last "debate" showed what load of old pony this whole thing is. Frankly they should stop doing it anyway and we should stop copying them. It serves no purpose, I doubt anyone is swayed by watching 2 politicians having a slanging match.
