In those days you could pawn almost everything - the clothes off your back or the shoes on your feet. Today they only deal in precious metals/jewellery. There is no longer a pawn shop on the corner of every street.

stop having kids you cannot afford to feed, but expect others to pay for them, expect the tax payer to always bail out the feckless.
