Boring Us Elections.
32 Answers
I put the coverage on BBC yesterday at 8 a.m. The presenter was someone called Matthew Jamrolypoly, or something. At that the point, the results so far were showing as Biden 220, Trump 213. Jamrolypoly said "Stay with us and we'll bring you all the results as they come in". That was at 8 a.m. At 6 p.m., 10 hours later, the latest results were Biden 220, Trump 213. All the talk was if this, if that. And still it goes on with the boring coverage. Well, it is on CNN. And we still don't know who will be the next POTUS. Anyway, stay with us as the results come in and we'll let you know who wins round about Christmas.

I bet your average American couldn't put their finger on the UK on a World Map.I can't help thinking that their concerns about our politics are zilch and certainly wouldn't be sitting up all night glued to the box and discussing Mori at work the next morning with regard to our swings and slides. :-).

It was actually very exciting as these things go.
You need to watch CNN or Fox etc where they have constant updated figures and analysis.
Much more interesting than here where it’s all sorted in advance by “accurate” polls and returning officers just give you a result and that’s that :-)
Of course by now the action has slowed somewhat but instead the entertainment is by the outrage on the part of republicans and the corresponding outrage about the outrage by the other side

// How the news channels manage to keep going when nowt is happening I don't know!//
tv channels so desperate - they asked and answered this question
there is a gap in dear old blighty elections ( and remember we always know the name of our head of state before during and after) between closure of polls and the result of the count - usually around 90 m to 2h.
and it is filled with er fillers about what is going on in the counting houses
and someone commented: "yeah we are on the second day of this !"
In the Marty Feldman film - the silent film - she sings baa-baa-loo ! and takes her clothes off

Some can't put their finger on any major cities in Canada! I was once selling a horse when I lived in Alberta and a woman contacted me from the East coast of America to come take a look -when I said where we lived, she replied 'Canada is just the other side of Niagra Falls isn't it?' -we're only a couple of hours from there -100% true story.
