Well, I don't want to go to war with France. But it is true that we paid a huge amount to the French to stop this ages ago and we know what happened. Footage of French ships escorting dinghies to British waters, remember? The French people are one thing - French politicians and current situation with Macron is another.
I missed the 'Send them back to France' bullet point somehow. Anyway, we should soon be able to send illegal immigrants (word is 'illegal') back to where they came from.

We're already able to do that. We simply choose not to. And while attitudes like this prevail:
