Why Is Sir Philip Green Not In Prison?
Arcadia Group is about to go t/ts-up, and like BHS before it, there is a large hole in the pension fund.
Basically Green and Arcadia have stolen money from all its employees, that will adversely affect their future prosperity.
As I say, he has previous form.
Question is, why wasn’t he banned from running companies 4 years ago?

I imagine it has something to do with toothless regulators, inept law enforcement and laziness.
Some big lads in jackets emblazoned with capital letters on the back a la FBI might help but you'd need political will to do something about sneaky goings-on, something we appear to lack as a country.
Unless you over-claim on benefits of course then the gloves are off.

// well generally you need to be convicted of a crime to go to prison.//
just about sums it up
oh and he has lots and lots of munnay and knows how to use it
you can make an application to the high ct to ban someone as a company director under the companies act
the pension scheme is in deficit
His business model is to acquire property and asset strip then sell ( as BHS bought 220m sold for one pound ) - + many millions diverted to philip green personally
and this does not survive an internet trade model

Yes hes a slimy toad but theres nothing in your link sunk that says he stole the money. Many pension schemes have black holes due to poor investments, not enough funding, paying more than the can afford ect but havent had money stole from them. I can't see were your link says or hint's he stole the money??

er this is not the norm to be aspired to - others have it so it is OK if I do
he was slated on BHS pensions - and oo look he has another one himself he never noticed or suspected ! yeah right - or righto! as the divine TTT says
his chief exec 2005 who didnt last long radio 4 stuck the knife in
( see my entry above)
he was an asset stripper for all to see, cash only, no investment, bought companies and emptied them
oo-er - no libel to say of a bankrupt that he is a bad business man I suppose

Is he a member of the Gov't Cronie Club? , if so, no he will not go to prison. //
As has been advised, that's not actually how the system works.
First of all you have to find evidence that a crime has been commited.
Then you take it to the police and they investigate it.
If they agree that a crime has been commited, then they arrest and charge the individual concerns.
The individual is then put on trial.
If, and only if, they are convicted, a sentence is handed down.
If, and only if, the sentence is custodial, then the person goes to prison.
Since the first of those stages has not occured, that explains why Sir Philip is not in prison.
The 'crony system' does not come into it.

Theland - // Oh I disagree.
He strikes me as well connected, and bulletproof.
His performance in front of the Commons Select Committee was disgraceful. Arrogant, insulting, angry, diversionary.
A rat. //
None of those statements are facts, they are opinions, and that behaviour is not illegal.
Whether or not Sir Philip is a member of the 'crony system' will have to be put to the test through legal process - simply not liking him is actually not sufficient evidence to back up your claim.
