More Problems With The Vaccine
A few people have had an allergic reaction to the vaccine so we are now being told people who have allergic reactions to some medicines, food etc might not be able to have it.I'm allergic to penicillin but don't know if this comes under significant allergy or not.

I wasn't anaphylactic shock, it was "an anaphylactoid reaction - much milder than anaphylaxis - which tends to involve a skin rash, breathlessness and sometimes a drop in blood pressure."

I saw this this morning as well. "Significant" would depend on how serious your reaction was, barsel.
So far, they seem to be saying they might need to avoid or take extra precautions for people with a history of serious food or medication allergies, or if you carry an epi-pen.
I would certainly discuss it with your GP, if anything seems relevant to you.

// Maybe the situation with the Covid jab is similar.//
nope
abiogenic or whatever
no cells involved - only test tubes
oh and whilst I have my po-face on
You can measure the effect of saying "oo I am allergic I cant have penicillin" - the alternatives are not as good
so give 100 pen and 100 self declared dumbcluck scaredy cats on the alternative usually erythro
and er measure sort of who is dead at the end.
erythro scores higher
and so in covid - follow up 1000 no-thank-yous and see their self deserved fate - and watch them squeal ( those that are alive) "this cd have happened if I were vaccinated" ( I dont think!)

Pixie, I had a anaphylactic shock after taking penicillin some years ago Fortunately my daughter was able to rush me to the hospital in time.
Whenever I go into hospital, they put a red warning bracelet on me and it is well documented in my notes. I am already booked to have a telephone conversation with my GP on the 15th, so hopefully she can advise me.

> Ellipsis, yes those 2 NHS workers had a anaphylactoid reaction, but if they carry an EpiPen around with them, then they must be classed as having a significant allergy to something?
Yes, they do. Have a read of the BBC article. Here's the link again ...
