The Mayor of Manchester is responsible for overseeing the conduct and running Greater Manchester Police (GMP).

GMP has been failing for many years. The Mayor has been made aware of the situation many times but has done nothing. Mainly because his cronies run the police show in Manchester.

Finally, time has caught up withe GMP. It has been put into Special Measures, because it is not fit for purpose. 25% of reported crimes in Greater Manchester never even made it onto their records. 80,000 crimes went unrecorded.

The Chief Constable who should have been sacked years ago has now resigned. He has hidden behind sick leave for months.

But all along, Burnham has been in charge of this Omnishambles, and should go.
