All of Surrey except Waverley (the area containing Godalming, Farnham and Haslemere) is in Tier 4 from midnight. The residents there have apparently been "very good" and their seven day infection rate is around 170. They've remained in Tier 2 despite being surrounded by the rest of Surrey, which is in Tier 4. This means the good burghers of Godalming cannot pop a couple of miles up the A31 to Guildford Town Centre in case they mix with the highly irresponsible people there (infection rate 211) to get their shopping. It also means the people from Guildford won't be able to pop down to the Red Lion in Godalming for a Scotch Egg salad and a pint. I'm sure that will be well respected and complied with.
As an aside, the MP for South West Surrey (which includes Waverley) is the former Foreign Secretary and Secretary of State for Health, one Jeremy Richard Streynsham Hunt, MP.
