I know this thread has run its course but really had to post this taken from my local paper today. No bloody wonder these women thought they were OK (as do I) when this is in our press. I hope they win their case.

LOL ^^^
// when this is in our press. //

hidden behind a questionnaire. :-(
There will be an article in that newspaper next week slagging all the people that have dared to go for a walk there.
The crux of Prudie's point is in the link itself, mushroom.

9 places across Dorset perfect for a walk during lockdown (oddly it says 10 in the link headline)
It goes on to give a bit of detail about each walk.

MADNESS!
mushroom if the black and green questionnaire comes up just click the cross and it goes away - parochial paper with irritating habits I'm afraid.
If you choose to go on one of the walks Prudie, and you have to drive there, as far as Stickybottle is concerned it will be considered "idiocy", and by dint of which you'll be considered an idiot. Now that's MADNESS.
Your links show that there are some very stupid people doing crazy things on a thread about two women who were doing nothing of the sort.

Some things seem to give authorities an excuse for an attempt at attrition of citizens' rights.
//Death toll passes 80,000 as the idiocy continues.//

I suggest you start another thread because the links you provided have nothing whatsoever in common with this one. Two of the three episodes you mention were clear contraventions of the law and were rightfully actioned. I'm not sure about the Welsh one because I am not familiar with the Welsh legislation. Living in England I've concentrated my efforts on remaining up to date with the English verbiage. The BBC report states "Level four restrictions mean travelling for exercise is not allowed." I've had a quick glance and I'm not so sure that they do but it was only a quick glance and I cannot be bothered to go into detail.
Not sure if the BBC is saying travelling does not count as exercise or if folk cannot travel and then exercise. If it's the latter, that is not correct.

The Welsh Regs state,
"(5) In sub-paragraph (4)(f)[allowing exercise]—
(a) exercise must start and finish at the place
where the person is living or where a member of the person’s extended household is living,
or
(b) where, for reasons of physical or mental
illness or impairment, or a disability (within
the meaning of section 6 of the Equality Act
2010), the person needs to exercise in another place, exercise must take place in an area local to the place where the person is living."

That means those with a physical or mental
illness or impairment, or a disability can travel and then exercise elsewhere.

Folk can also travel to wherever a member of their extended household lives and begin their exercise from there.
It is amazing that we’ve gone from a nation of fat children and obese couch potatoes to mountain walkers and gym monkeys when the chips are down and it’s not safe to do so.
Such dedicated athletes are determined to break the rules to maintain their fitness god bless them, so commendable lol.
You’ve comprensively lost this argument Stickybottle, so it’s probably wise to retire gracefully from this thread.
you have a point there, Stickybottle. Though I don't know that the obese are the same people as the Munro-baggers, the official emphasis has changed sharply.

Haha not even my thread but I didn’t realise someone had died and left you in charge lol
Stickybottle,

Except no one is breaking the rules to maintain their fitness.
We are all allowed to exercise. We can drive to where we want to walk. It is all very simple, not sure why some are unable to comprehend the rules?

80,000 people have died, but I am going to posit that they didn’t contract the virus outdoors on a socially distanced walk in the countryside.
It was just a suggestion Stickybottle to stop you making even more of a fool of yourself than you already have.
Sunk

Lol any chance I can borrow your crystal ball, I want next weeks lottery numbers.
Sorry, no crystal ball.

But I look forward to you posting a link proving that 80,000 ramblers have died.
