lankeela, suggest you read this....it puts the numbers in perspective - and part of it is that lockdown has led to virtually zippo flu cases and deaths because of that are nearly zero, so some compensation/
However, the BBC wets will be weeing in their pants at shooting down the good work done by the government, the NHS and the public at large - and one has to remember that the numbers today include the hangover of the weekend numbers......
It’s “catch up” Tuesday.
I deplore the blame game really whether it’s aimed at people or the government.
And the comments about the BBC are particularly baffling
I dont think lankeela is wrong and she does not sound pleased to me... Christmas did contribute to a rise in covid cases and much like the rest of our govt's calamitous response this was avoidable. "Good work done by the government"... my foot!
Master
I think Lankeela is suggesting that the deaths have been the result of going out and partying and are therefore deserved. Rather bizarre.

Why have they? They have not succeeded in influencing government policy. And, of course, you’re assuming the deaths were caused either by weak legislation or people not adhering to it. I have a friend who contracted Covid and he had not left his house for over five weeks before he tested positive. His wife had but she did everything recommended when she returned. The plain fact is that it is impossible to prevent viruses spreading. That is abundantly clear and it just needs to be accepted.
If we are blaming 'Lockdown Deniers' for high infection rates,
can someone explain to me how a family of 5, living in the same household, gets 2 members tested positive while the other 3 dont?
All living in close proximity, breathing the same air, sharing the same utensils etc)
Im baffled at this highly infectious disease.
When were they tested nailit and were the others tested as negative? They may get a difference if there retested a few days later. Some are more suseptible to viruses. But agree its unpredictable
