I hope that he can calm internal strife (but that also depends on the GOP and Trump) - I do worry about whether he will be an interventionist president as regards global problems.
Covid will dominate his first year and then the economy needs to be stimulated - I hope he has the nerve to do that.

Very much incorrect I’d say. I love Ireland and it’s great for hiring violinists and visits to ones antecedents’ places of birth. Less important tho I hate to say it on the world diplomatic scene. (Biden also has colonial British ancestry by the way) but relations with the UK, which were fraught in the Trump era are bound to improve.
Britain will be hosting the climate change summit with the US back on board there. And we have the D10 as well.
Biden will be better friends with the EU too but that is also good news for Britain.

I've posted this before twice & have been accused of repetition, but nobody has challenged any of these facts & it's my thread & I make no apologies. So what improvements do expect now he is going, just as you wished:
Looking at his record, he has stood up to China, kept America out of new wars, solidified ties with Israel, overturned the disastrous Iran deal and obliterated Isis. Domestically, he removed handicapping regulations to American economic growth, rebuilt a depleted military, brought back manufacturing and revamped dying industries by renegotiating trade deals and cutting taxes; he has achieved energy independence, curbed immigration — all of which contributed to setting record unemployment rates. He has tackled neglected issues such as human trafficking and unjust incarceration — and given America a chance at restoring her principles, pride, independence and true place in the world as beacon of liberty and hope for all.

I've challenged it several times,
I'm not going to do so again, if you missed the other times :-)
A president who's main self-claim to stardom is that he "didn't start any wars"
He was too busy starting them at home ...
It will take a while to undo the damage he did, but you have to start somewhere.

I'm sure someone could go through that point-by-point and explain how utterly flawed and misguided it is at every step. But the overarching point is that Trump did nothing if it didn't make him sound good at a rally. Even his "achievements" have to be understood in that context: Trump never cared for even a second about "Making America Great Again" for its own sake. That's also why Trump has failed so utterly on Covid, because the required response takes a long time, requires a great deal of effort, and provides a benefit that could only be seen when you realise its absence. That's also why Trump failed so utterly to respect the Election, because how can he look good as a loser?
Pro-Trumpers never seemed to understand what was obvious from the beginning: Trump never cared about them in any way beyond what they did for him.

Since he was banned from twitter, Trump has not deigned to address the American people save in a couple of pre-recorded videos.
He's scarcely even appeared in public.
That is how much he cares about Americans.
Today he will skulk off the political scene after a function which apparently is so desperate for attendees that invitees, many of them people long since sacked from and denounced by Trump central, are being offered to bring 5 friends.
His VP and the head of the Senate Republicans will shun it to attend the Inauguration. many of his most loyal staffers departed the scene quietly days ago.
In a few days the Senate may very well vote to debar him from further public office.
The hint he may try to start a new political party may come as a relief to his own party who will surely want to get rid of him as they attempt to rebuild.
Trump always felt like an alien in office, alien to the values that most Americans would recognise, and certainly alien to British ones.
He will be missed by some, but honestly, I suspect not for long beyond his most extreme followers.

Of course sounding good at rallies is often a motivation for politicians, but it was plain for everybody to see that Trump fed off the energy far more than most. That's what motivated him -- in practice he spent far more time at rallies (or on a golf course, or Twitter) than doing the job he was elected to do. And certainly it motivated him far more to be seen to be winning as an individual. It was never about the USA, it was always about Trump.
That's what will be different, to a large extent, about Biden. In the campaign he eschewed rallies because he understood that the pandemic was a threat to take seriously, and because setting an example was more important than setting a crowd-size record.
