English - what makes you happy and unique?
I was going to answer a previous question, but ended up in a quagmire of my own making. I'm genuinely interested in how people on AB feel. History makes an impact as do current social trends. How do English people tick? Don't be negative if you can, but say what makes you feel happy and unique.

I think I said some positive things and indeed immediately afterwards gary baldy posted an answer which I thought DID sum up what England was about and Stevie added to it (youre getting the measure of me now Stevie Boy!).So I wont take personally any critisicism aimed at moi ! I was vague about my response because as someone quite rightly said it could be equated to any country (although I had already said that) and its not my place to say what makes England great.
BTW - Good one TCL !!
Maybe will post this on AB suggestions. - should there be a warning triangle if only certain nationalities are allowed to participate in a thread without getting negative vibes from say chessman and woofgang for example. They were a bit too unkind if I may be so bold :) In spite of trying to be adult in ones responses some people always bring a playground mentaility into it.Na Na Na Na Na !!!!
Our green and beautiful land makes me happy and I think on the whole the British stand up for what is right and just. The fact that some of us think we are unique shows a sense of inherant pride that has been passed down through our history. Where it is interesting to know individuals ideas and thoughts what is important is that we maintain our sense of pride in our great and precious land. Whether it be England Scotland or Ireland we wouldnt be so great if we were just England alone.
