probably "sorry, we were a bit busy, will try harder"
The" Conservative Crony Club" at it again , it's what they do best, and they are very good at it
A Pint ?
That's nearly an Armful !
No idea what he'll say - I prefer to wait and see.
He will say he fully recognises the importance of transparency.
And then will carry on not being transparent in future.

He has been found guilty of something for which there is no punishment, sanction or fine. He gets his wrist slapped by a Judge, and his chums get to keep all the money he sent their way.
Nothing if he can help it. It will be met with circumnavigation, diminution and casuistry.
What would you like him to say?

Well an explanation would be a start,D/D.
it's almost as if there has been a crisis!
what a complete rissole!
the anti British are getting desperate!
Does that include the judge?
What will he say? My heart goes out to the ones that didn't get the contracts, but I needed to scratch a friends back.
How come the Cons keep on getting away with these Crony deals , surely it is criminal.
These are not just numbers, they are friends, family, associates, but my deepest sympathy to the rest of you.
I feel the pain, like many, but I need to look after the people that are nearest and dearest to me, and feather their nest along with mine. :0)
We had to move quickly - if we hadn't those same people on this thread whining about this would be whining if we hadn't moved quickly.

I've just spent £6k on a plumber to completely re-do our heating and water; it needed to be done quickly, and the plumber who is doing it is known and trusted; I could, of course, have put it out to tender, but that would have delayed things and interfered with the other work I'm having done.

Same principle.

Hancock acted quickly, and good for him for doing so. Would you rather he acted as you wanted him to act to salve your bile, resulting in an unnecessary delay?

I know what I prefer - decisive action.
the trouble is, when Dido Harding comes to sort out your plumbing she'll end up saying "Oh sorry, but who could have predicted that if I left a tap running overnight your house would have been flooded?"
^^^if I knew that meant, I’d comment, but as I don’t, I won’t.
Baroness Harding is a serial incompetent who keeps getting work from her chums in government and blaming everyone else when things go wrong.

She was also on the board of the Jockey Club when they decided to stage the superspreader Cheltenham Gold Cup last year. So, the obvious woman to head the National Institute for Health Protection.

I dare say you choose your plumbers carefully. The government does not exercise similar care in doling out contracts, and certainly doen't embarrass them by requiring competitive tendering.
