Farage may have helped put Brexit on the agenda but it would never gave happened without Mr D Cummings. He was the deliverer. One of his smart tactics was making sure Farage was kept well at arms length in the campaign.
ich: 11:36, yes but it was Farage that frightened the excrement out of Cameron and forced the referendum. I agree it was Cummings that won it but if it wasn't for NF he'd not have had the referendum to win.
ich, most, including Cameron thought that remain would win and it would put it to bed for a generation, sadly for Cameron, ....well we know what happened.
Cameron of course didn’t think he’d need to call a referendum as he expected another hung Parliament. Osborne warned him it was folly but I think he was buoyed by the Scottish referendum.
A small man who liked a punt versus a tall man who liked a pint :-)
Cameron was worried that UKIP, who were then on a roll, would take enough votes from the Tories to cause their defeat. His gamble paid off inasmuch as he won a small majority. What he did not factor into the equation was the result of the referendum.
// We've given the French government another £28 million to stop these migrant boats from coming, and yet this week the French navy are still escorting these vessels across into British waters for the Border Force to pick up," Farage said. //
Whose daft idea was that?
// Home Secretary Priti Patel has agreed to pay France £28 million to double the number of officers patrolling beaches to stop migrants crossing the Channel. //
and its not even summer yet, more will arrive daily from all parts of the third world carrying god knows what? aids tb corona ebola! you just don't know, but it's all lost on human rights... british public do not count...if the whole population or a alot for example caught ebola, the do ggoders would say well, it was still worth it to save the illegals.
I'm guessing that the "st" in the title stands for "stupid tit" (best T-word I could use without getting censored). Odious little monkey-faced creep of a man.
Iranian illegal immigrant Majid, complained of the conditions in the ex military accommodation in Folkestone, which used to house British soldiers. “We’ve been treated like criminals and we don’t know what we’ve done to deserve that,” he said.
Just going back to Tora's opening point, and this is a genuine question. If the boats are towed back to France and then destroyed, isn't that an act of criminal damage on foreign soil?
What drives me mad is those who say to take in illegal. Most of us don't live in mansions and most of us wouldn't accept complete strangers into our house.
I don't know a solution except turning the boats back which is something I couldn't do to another human being. I would probably say, no papers then no foot on this soil.
