Bame Poor Vaccine Take-Up
73 Answers
Woman from Runnymead Trust said on TV this afternoon that black Britons were in many cases unable to visit vaccine centres because of their poverty and the remoteness of centres. She also said that black health workers had been the first hit with the virus due to racism. One despairs.

All the vaccination hubs I know of are in Town centres. Some people who live up the Dales -some without private transport, have to travel 20 odd miles to the nearest one.
I am fed up to my back teeth with this BLM' everything negative that happens to me is cos I'm of colour' carp. No, its not racist -cos guess what?-shyt happens to white people too, white people dont get good education, white people don't get the first job they apply for (then whinge ). I'm not racist, certainly not white supremacist, just sick of the Black card been used again and again as an excuse for just about everything. As for Black poverty being worse than White .......I don't honestly know how they work that one out.

One option in some areas with low take ups in Jewish, BAME and deprived areas has been to have drop in centres where no booking is needed for a vaccinne. Am not sure its been successful but lets hope it is. Am allways puzzled by the ''theres no guarantee it wont affect fertility' argument as how does that effect the over 50s anyway?
The main reasons not direct racism or lack of access its lack of trust in science and goverment due to windrush and a beleif there god will look after them

What's wrong with buses ? As a regularly user let me enlighten you - during social distancing conditions, buses only allow a reduced number aboard - so you could be left standing at the bus stop for the next bus with no guarantee it will be any better. It is for this reason I was unable to attend a Vaccination Centre (2 bus rides away, so the availability problem doubled) but had to wait until local surgery (fortunately within walking distance) could accommodate me.

If the Runnymede Trust person actually said that she is being rediculous or mis-using words. Some black Britons may be in poverty but its only a smallish proportion of them not many of them. The take up is low because they wont take it, including afir share of BAME care workers who can get to work but arent taking it up because there unsure/antivaxx not because they cant travel to a pharmacy/centre
